We have used other mowers in the past, however the finish given by the MAJOR 5.5m Swift was far superior to any other machine. We can cover over 15 acres an hour. The quality of cut is excellent and it’s a very reliable mower.

We use our Major MJ70-410 for all our largest areas of grass cutting and I’ve found it to be fabulous behind our Deutz Fahr 320f. It’s the perfect combination. We cut the grass here twice a week in the spring and then weekly throughout the whole of the rest of the year . So we keep the stripes looking nice and sharp for all the events that we have. Its proved to be a really good machine. It’s been very flexible because we can pick it up and take it to use on the roadside verges that go right up through the deer park. We’ve got several paddocks that we cut where the grass is much longer than this and its certainly keeps the grass looking pristine here. We’re really impressed with its versatility

We had an old model Major12ft and it was replaced in 2015 with a MJ70-550 Roller Mower. Before buying, we looked at several of the leading brands of wide-area mower and kept coming back to the simplicity and reliability of the Major mower. The old mower had given us so much good service without breakdown issues that in comparing with other products that were more complicated, we decided to stay with the Major because it was tried, tested and trusted. Its performance has been excellent. And because it’s wider, we get over the ground a lot quicker, it’s a very solid, robust machine that leaves a very good cut, regardless of conditions. Last year, it cut the entire season with just one set of blades, which is a testament to the machine’s durability.

Our contracts are mainly for schools and colleges, maintaining grass football and rugby pitches and external amenity areas for local authorities. Our customers expect a quality job every time, on-time and that’s what they get. We run two Major Swift Winged Roller Mowers, which have proven to be low maintenance and high performance. We rarely have any issues with the Major mowers but if we do have a query, Major and our local dealer are there in an instant to sort it out - we can’t ask better of that.
John and Emily Julyan, Team Maintenance Services
We were actually quite surprised how well it was contracted. It’s certainly a lot more solid than our previous mowers. The construction, the thickness of the steel , the quality of the gearboxes, and the ease of maintenance - it’s been impressive. The type of cut on the Major mower is excellent in short and long grass. We’ve been very happy with how it has operated and we believe that we’ve got our moneys worth.

We are a parkland golf club established in 1895. The course is approximately 140 acres in size. We have four staff to maintain this, which can be a struggle at times. Our 3.2m Major Roller Mower is a fantastic piece of machinery. We bought the Major Mower to replace a ride on rough mower. We are saving a lot of time and there is far less maintenance required. We demonstrated a few machines that were on the market at the time and the Major was by far the best.

The beauty of the Major 4.1 Swift is it’s not belt driven. You don’t have to worry about it – you just go. To be honest, it’s actually quite an incredible mower. It makes a beautiful job; we’re pretty wrapped with it really. I’d recommend Major mowers to farmers, councils, and private operators. I’ll definitely put my name on it. Major machinery are excellent. I won’t be changing for quite a while.
