We have been using MAJOR roller mowers for many years. We added a MAJOR 2.4m Swift to our fleet a year ago. We're delighted with the quality cut this mower gives and how cost effective it is to run and maintain.

We’ve a 200 hectare site to maintain. We chose the Major Roller Mower because we can continue cutting even when raining and it still gives a great finish. A bonus is that a slip clutch protection on the PTO protects the main drive. If the machine hits something, the slip clutch is activated and automatically resets itself. That means the operator can continue to mow, without any disruption to the cutting schedule.

We purchased the Major MJ170-190 roller mower in 2014 to replace our existing set of gang mowers which we use to cut the cricket clubs outfield. When the spacer kit is fitted its possible to cut to a length of 10mm which makes it incredibly versatile. It is a very well built mower with low maintenance cost, giving an excellent cut in most conditions.

We have many loyal customers who have come to expect a high level of workmanship from us. We bought a Major 2.4m Swift Roller Mower and a Kubota STV 40 last year through our dealer Rod Gaskin. The front and rear rollers deliver a beautiful striped finish even when the grass is wet. It’s gear driven so any issues with belts are eliminated. The user friendly height adjustment system allows us to cut from 10mm to 150mm depending on where we’re working. In addition to doing a fantastic job, the mower is easy to maintain and cost effective to run.

We purchased both a 40 hp Iseki tractor and a Major Swift 2.4m. This is the best investment in the last two years. Compared to the cylinder mower that we had before, we can start mowing earlier in the morning because there’s less clumps in the field, even if the grass is still a little dewy.

The MAJOR Swift MJ71-240 mower is an absolute dream mower. It’s easy to set the height of cut between jobs, easy to maintain, is a light and very strong machine - not too heavy to avoid compaction but is firm enough to leave a very level finish. It handles thick and wet grass easily. It produces the ideal finish that reflects the quality of workmanship that we as a company always strive to achieve. If it’s anything like the original MAJOR mower we used to have, it’s going to last us twenty years of more.

The MAJOR Swift leaves a brilliant finish with the lovely stripes on our ground. The roller levels the divots so the playing surface is always very smooth. The players and spectators have complimented on how it’s looking. It reminds them of pitches in the Premier League they see on television.

We mow 35 hectares of lawns at an A standard here at the University of Twente. We use the MAJOR mowers for mowing the sports fields and also as support on the lawns. Mowing for our clients has become easier. The wider machine has increased our capacity so our work rate is much higher now. I would definitely recommend MAJOR for municipalities and other authorities for public green spaces, and certainly for sports fields and sports facilities.

The Major Swift has almost zero maintenance costs compared to the high costs with the cylinder mower. Plus, all the work can be done faster and cleaner.

“Major is a trusted brand. The Major Swift is a solid machine – it gives a lovely clean cut with no clumps of grass left behind.”

We use a Iskei 3400 which is only 33hp. Yet it easily manages the 2.4m Swift. It handles all the ground conditions in the park and leaves a perfect stripe afterwards, which enhances the image of the park.

With the MJ71-240, it takes 22 minutes at 11kph to mow 1 hectare. This considerably simplifies grounds maintenance tasks and frees up my time for other work.
