We moved to a Major rotary roller mower from cylinder mowers about five years ago as the cylinder mowers were just too costly to run and maintain. After a demo we put the Major to work immediately and it instantly proved itself in heavy, wet grass. It did the job brilliantly – I’ve never seen clippings disappear like that. Because we’re mulching long grass we need it chopped fine and spread evenly to allow for re-growth and not to cause dead spots. We now run four Major 4.1m roller mowers for all our grass mowing.
