Major at Saltex 2018 with Upgraded Swift Roller Mower and Special Guest Tim Stiles

Major Equipment returns to Saltex 2018 (Stand J112) with the latest edition of the Major Swift Roller Mowers (MJ71 Series). The wide-area mowers are high-output machines suitable for the maintenance of parks, schools and sports grounds requiring that all important after-cut appearance.

Featuring a 60mm blade overlap and custom-designed gearbox that work together with high blade tip speeds of 75m/s, the Major Swifts deliver a professional striped finish every time without compromising quality or high work rate.

The gear-driven roller mower delivers a fine finish on long and short grass while reducing overall costs. “The Major Swift has a direct drive with gearboxes on each blade which copes with short grass and a lot longer grass as well. We are able to do that with one mower instead of buying a whole fleet, reducing our purchasing costs,” says Will Power, Area Manager of Cardiff Council Parks Services.

“Major mowers are excellent cost-wise because of the simplicity and ease to work,” continued Will. “Cheap to run, cheap to maintain, but have that build and quality that will give you the finish that you require. We started off with a 12000 Major mower and now have four Major mowers.”

Produced using Strenx™ 700 MC high-strength steel and polished with a galvanised body, the Swifts are available in 3-point linkage and trailed configurations from 1.9m to 5.4m working widths. The winged model features a 1.9m transport width allowing for easy access with wing lock for safe road transportation.

Special guest Tim Stiles, former Head Gardener at Sherborne Castle and Estates, will be at the Major stand (Stand J112) to meet and discuss grounds care and estate management. Call into to chat with Tim Stiles and see the new Major Series 2 Swifts along with the Cyclone and Contoura mowers.
