Major Equipment (Intl) Ltd returns to the 2019 National Ploughing Championships with its biggest lineup of machinery renowned for strength, stamina and value.

Taking centre stage will be its own dedicated low-emission slurry application system. The new MAJOR Dribble Bar and Trailing Shoe applicators feature a universal adaptor with adjustable height system for maximum flexibility and improved flow.

The systems are designed to apply slurry to the soil surface as accurately as possible while minimising grass contamination and ammonia emissions. Both units have 30 outlets spaced 260mm apart for even and precise distribution of liquid material in long and short grass.

They are easily mounted onto the back door without welding or fabricating, making them ideal for retrofitting.

Adjustable brackets to set height

Brackets with settings in 60mm increments allow either unit to be set according to the tanker height making the system completely adaptable to any tanker make or model. They can also be used with the existing splashplate left in place.

Both units are available in 7.5m working widths. When arms are folded and locked into place, the Dribble Bar has a transport width of 2.2m and the Trailing Shoe has a transport width of 2.4m. For safe and legal road use, a full lighting board is fitted as standard. There is a double self-aligning pivot hinge with easy access grease point on each wing for increased durability.

The Trailing Shoe and Dribble Bar are made of high-strength steel and galvanised, which increases durability and lifespan. A Vogelsang ExaCut macerator is centred on both units to deliver optimal cutting results and eliminate blockages.

“We’ve been customising tankers for over 40 years so we know what works out in the field,” begins Martin Walsh, Sales Manager at Major Equipment. “Our customers have been asking for a simple, reliable and compliant solution that delivers value for money. We’re taking the best materials and components available, to offer better value with our own low-emission slurry spreading solutions.”

Alongside the slurry application systems is the award-winning Cyclone rotary mower/shredder. The heavy duty machine is designed for the most rugged working environments with 50% less power consumption than an equivalent-sized flail mower. The patented “blender-style” double-chop blade system pulverises material so cuttings decompose quickly back into the soil, making it ideal for heavy scrub and crop stubble management.

Made from high-performance Strenx structural steel and galvanised to EN ISO specifications, the Cyclone is guaranteed impact tough. Models in working widths from 2.5m (8’) up to 6.3m (20’) will be on display together with an array of agricultural mowers, toppers and forestry equipment.

Major Equipment will also update its branding to reflect the growth and evolution of MAJOR from an agricultural machinery company to a global provider of superior products and solutions to agricultural, amenity, and industrial sectors.

“Our business has grown and evolved over the years – we’re entering new markets and new sectors with our innovative products and solutions and we want our brand to best reflect who we are, what we believe in, and where we’re headed,” continued Martin. “Our refreshed look acknowledges our agricultural roots while embracing evolving and dynamic environments.”

The updated logo, colours and typeface will be gradually updated on all collateral, machines, merchandise and digital assets over the coming months.
