The Low Emission Slurry Spreading Equipment Scheme (LESS) under TAMS encourages a more environmentally friendly approach to slurry spreading.
Under the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) II, farmers can avail of up to 40% grant aid to improve and/or build a specific range of farm buildings or purchase equipment that may benefit their farm businesses.

Retrofitting of existing tanker with the following:
Rate Available: 40% (subject to a maximum eligible investment of €40,000, or €60,000 in the case of a joint application by two eligible applicants or partners under a registered partnership).
Grant aid is only available for the purchase of a slurry tanker or umbilical slurry spreading system if it includes one of the following spreaders: a) dribble bar (or band spreader), b) shallow injection attachment or C) trailing shoe (or trailing foot). An application is ineligible if one of the spreaders listed above is not purchased.
A slurry tanker must have a spreader fitted and cannot be fitted with a rain gun. An existing tanker can only be retrofitted with a dribble bar spreader.
