Looking to upgrade to a Low Emission Slurry Spreading system? There’s a 40% grant available.

The Low Emission Slurry Spreading Equipment Scheme (LESS) under TAMS encourages a more environmentally friendly approach to slurry spreading.

Under the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) II, farmers can avail of up to 40% grant aid to improve and/or build a specific range of farm buildings or purchase equipment that may benefit their farm businesses.

The following items are eligible under the Low Emission Slurry Spreading Equipment Scheme

Type of Investment

New tanker fitted with the following (click on the links for specifications:

* Dribble bar spreader
Shallow injection spreader
Trailing shoe spreader

Retrofitting of existing tanker with the following:
Dribble bar spreader

Rate Available: 40% (subject to a maximum eligible investment of €40,000, or €60,000 in the case of a joint application by two eligible applicants or partners under a registered partnership).

Grant aid is only available for the purchase of a slurry tanker or umbilical slurry spreading system if it includes one of the following spreaders: a) dribble bar (or band spreader), b) shallow injection attachment or C) trailing shoe (or trailing foot). An application is ineligible if one of the spreaders listed above is not purchased.

A slurry tanker must have a spreader fitted and cannot be fitted with a rain gun. An existing tanker can only be retrofitted with a dribble bar spreader.
